Project: Health and Wellbeing of Young People
Background: This study is conducted every three years and aims to gather demographic information on the pupil population, obtain trend data on key areas of health, and gain an understanding to individual pupil perceptions of their health & wellbeing.
The study focuses on health behaviours, personal factors, and wider social and environmental issues that influence the health, perceptions and wellbeing of young people within Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire.
Method: Progressive administered a closed self-completion questionnaire to 50% of pupils within Secondary 1 to Secondary 6 in 30 schools across Glasgow and 6 schools in East Dunbartonshire.
A total of 14,266 paper questionnaires were returned and the client was provided with a clean data set in SPSS.
Outcome: Survey results are used extensively to inform health improvement strategies across the Health Board area.
