Meet Joanna, who manages our face-to-face interviewing team

What are the best things about being an interviewer?

You don’t do the same job every day! Market research is varied and you are chatting to people about all different subjects. For example, in the last month I have interviewed visitors to Glasgow museums, interviewed passengers on ferries, and been on the street talking to people about knife crime and buying and selling homes.

How did you get into market research?

I started with Progressive 20 years ago when my children were young so I could work round their school day and childcare. I could pick and choose which days I wanted to work and I worked the hours that suited me best. The job allowed me to get back out to work and meet people after having my family. It introduced me back to the outside world and gave me a confidence boost. I have met the most amazing people doing my job and I love it because it is so varied!

Do you have any goals for the near future?

I am looking forward to expanding the interviewing team across Scotland. One of my roles is to train new team members, motivate them and pass on all my interviewing knowledge. We have got some great projects coming up and the whole team are looking forward to working on them.
